“After a cool wet summer, the warm, dry weather in September rubbed out the delay in ripening and curbed any development of rot. This vintage did not gain the esteem that it deserved. The range of aromas in this 2002 is similar from a number of points of view to that of 2003. However, this vintage displays no overripeness; the vintage was fresher. This made for a wine that is less wide on the palate, slightly green, stricter but more digestible and better structured than its predecessor. It is a classic Bordeaux wine.”
